Punjab which is also spelt Panjab is the northwest region of India. On its boundaries to the east is Himachal Pradesh, to the south and southeast is Haryana,Rajasthan in southwest, Country Pakistan in west and in North Punjab is bounded by Indian State Jammu and Kashmir. The name Punjab was given to the region by Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. Punjab means Land of Five Rivers (Sutlej, Beas, Rabi,Chenab and Jhelum).पंजाब भारत का उत्तर पश्चिमी हिस्से का एक राज्य है जो कि अपने पूर्व दिशा में हिमाचल प्रदेश से घिरा हुआ है और उत्तर में जिसके जम्मू कश्मीर है। पंजाब के दक्षिण में पाकिस्तान है और कुछ दक्षिणी हिस्से और दक्षिणी पश्चिम में हरियाणा और राजस्थान है। पंजाब को यह नाम महाराजा रणजीत सिंह ने दिया। पंजाब को पांच नदियों की धरती कहा जाता है। ये पांच नदियां है - सतलुज ,ब्यास ,राबी चेनाब और झेलम।
